A real bridge over the Scheldt may be a bit of a wait, but as of today, the editors of Gazet van Antwerpen and ATV are already building a news bridge from left to right bank. From now on, they will create one news site and app for and about Antwerp. The editors continue to work independently, but bundle their regional journalism in one place online.

GVA editor-in-chief Frederik De Swaef: “It is important for a news app today to tell not only in text and photo, but also in video and sound what is happening and living in the City and the world. Together with the colleagues of ATV, we can show the news live and reinforce background information with news images. This makes us the number 1 destination for all those who want to know what is going on in Antwerp.”

Hans Hellemans, editor-in-chief of ATV: “At ATV we have a lot of ambition and, above all, a lot of enthusiasm to develop the strongest online platform in the Antwerp region together with our colleagues from Gazet van Antwerpen. I have noticed in recent weeks that the enthusiasm at both news brands is very high. Our journalists will send live images to gva.be and soon our news anchors will receive guests in the morning to discuss current events. In this way, GVA and ATV ensure a constant supply of news from the Antwerp region.”
